The fashion label Iris von Arnim was founded in Hamburg in 1976 and is still the favourite brand when it comes to the finest materials and outstanding quality. At the beginning of the 70s, the creative designer had a serious car accident, which caused Iris to spend several months in hospital. Due to boredom, Arnim discovered knitting for herself. Her business idea developed from her passion for cashmere - known in German as Kashmir - and the elaborate patterns.

Only a few years after the founding of Arnim GmbH, son Valentin was born. Growing up between knitwear and cashmere, Valentin von Arnim joined his mother's company. Today, the Hamburg native manages the strategic business of the company together with Iris and designs collections that have become an integral part of the brand. The Arnim articles, with their unmistakable designs, not only sell extremely well in Hamburg, but are also a big seller internationally.

Iris von Arnim focuses on ecological commitment

Iris von Arnim consciously places a lot of emphasis on sustainability, and compliance with environmental regulations has always been an important issue for the family business. Since 2019, Iris von Arnim has been CO₂-neutral. They put a lot of emphasis on transparent production and supply chains, sustainable materials of the collections, plastic-free packaging and ecological use of paper and print designs. The fashion label also only produces a limited number of items for their shop in order to be even more conscious of the needs of the environment.
