extreme cashmere: A garment for every person and every season

extreme cashmere is a cashmere label founded in Amsterdam in 2016 by Saskia Dijkstra. The brand consciously breaks with traditional fashion rules and focuses on three core principles: a consistent one-size concept, seasonless collections, and gender-neutral designs. Saskia Dijkstra brings over twenty years of experience in cashmere production and used this foundation to develop a knitwear philosophy that does not orient itself toward classic clothing sizes, but instead puts body shapes at the center through intelligent cuts. The range grows continuously edition by edition and offers versatile cashmere basics for everyday life.

The brand's history began with the first model, the "crew hop," which surprisingly worked on a wide variety of body types, thus laying the foundation for the one-size approach. The raw material comes from Inner Mongolia, where extreme climatic conditions produce particularly fine and resilient goat hair. Design takes place in Amsterdam, while production occurs at long-standing partner factories in China. In addition to classic 100 percent cashmere, the label uses material blends such as cotton-cashmere, wool-cashmere, and cashmere-stretch with a proportion of elastane for different wearing characteristics and seasonal requirements.

The collections are aimed at people who appreciate timeless, uncomplicated knitwear and do not want to be restricted by rigid clothing sizes or gender categories. The range includes sweaters, cardigans, T-shirts, trousers, and accessories in a broad color palette from neutral tones to bold accent colors. The distinguishing feature of every garment is a small, hand-stitched flag on the hem or cuff, whose color codes indicate the available shades of the respective edition. Since the brand does not think in terms of classic seasons, proven models remain permanently on offer and are continuously supplemented by new cuts and colors.

Fit, size advice and cashmere care at extreme cashmere

The one-size concept does not mean that every style fits every person identically: the fit varies from body-hugging to heavily oversized depending on body type. To support customers in their selection, the brand provides detailed measurements and uses product images to show how each garment looks on models of different sizes.

As a general guideline: styles made of cashmere stretch have a more compact fit, while classic 100-percent cashmere sweaters usually run larger. The soft feel and natural elasticity of the material generally ensure high wearing comfort for various body shapes.

Care instructions: Most cashmere items should be machine washed on the wool cycle at 30 °C (86 °F) at a maximum of 600 revolutions per minute – turned inside out, protected in a laundry net, and using a special wool detergent without fabric softener. After washing, cashmere should be dried lying flat on a towel; a tumble dryer must not be used. Occasional pilling is normal for natural fibers and can be carefully removed after washing with a cashmere comb to maintain a smooth surface.
