The luxury label Barrie is one of the oldest cashmere factories in Scotland. The factory, which initially focused solely on the production of hosiery, was founded in Hawick in 1903. In 1920, the company expanded its production to include clothing, particularly T-shirts and sweaters.

Even back then, Barrie placed great emphasis on tradition and a distinctive working method. As a result of the high quality and exceptional craftsmanship, the company supplied some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Chanel acquired Barrie, a long-standing client, in 2012. Since 2018, the Frenchman Augustin Dol-Maillot has been at the helm of the luxury label Barrie's creative direction.

Creative director Dol-Maillot has a great passion for streetwear and convincingly incorporates it into the collections of the Scottish label Barrie. The young designer, born in 1989, has his own studio in beautiful Paris. There, he focuses on optimizing work processes at the production facility in Hawick. Here, the processes, which require over 40 steps for a single product, are 80% done by hand. The garments are also knitted on Bentley cotton knitting machines.

Barrie's fashion, consisting mainly of cardigans, T-shirts, and accessories, is characterized by its striking colors and intricately crafted 3D patterns. The fine knitwear ranges from playfully feminine to sporty and casual. Whether in gray, blue, pink, beige, or black, the cashmere collections impress with vibrant designs and playful 3D details.
