The label's founder, Rieke Common, had a vision from the very beginning: to create a fashion brand that combined feminine clothing with color. After completing her fashion design studies, she initially worked as a designer for Oscar de la Renta in New York. She then served as creative director for Rena Lange. She also gained her first experience at Bernd Berger and Strenesse. Drawing on her expertise and the experience she gained in the fashion industry, she decided to launch her own fashion label, Maison Common, in 2014.
