Utzon's roots

In 1990, Pernille Utzon founded the Utzon brand in Copenhagen. As a descendant of a long-established family of fur and leather craftsmen, she possessed the necessary expertise to reinterpret natural hides. With her bold, contemporary approach, she consciously broke with old conventions and laid the foundation for a brand that combines elegance and informality.

Utzon redefines "natural skins": The collections embody an effortless, sophisticated elegance. The brand's credo is that nature has already provided perfect designs, and it is up to us to honorably refine this heritage. Almost the entire collection is produced in small workshops in Denmark, Istanbul, and Hong Kong, where experienced furriers have perfected their craft for generations. This international production not only guarantees responsible working conditions but also allows for bespoke tailoring to individual customer requirements. Green Glamour: Sustainability at its best

For Utzon, sustainability is not a marketing slogan, but a lived practice. Natural hides are considered extremely durable and, with proper care, can last up to 30 years. At the end of their life cycle, they are biodegradable and leave no microplastic footprint. Furthermore, the virgin wool used – including lambskin, goatskin, and nappa leather – carries the REACH certificate for minimal use of harmful substances.

Hides with a provenance: The journey of the materials

Utzon places great importance on the selection of raw hides: the better the animal husbandry and care, the more beautiful the patina of the final product. Therefore, the hides primarily come from European producing countries. From a transparent supply chain to environmentally friendly tanning, Utzon combines aesthetics and ethical standards at the highest level.
