The Scottish fashion label Barrie stands out with its luxurious cashmere fashion for women and men. The intricate 3D embroideries of their collections are just as impressive as the colorful details. Whether it's sweaters, t-shirts, skirts, or pants, the combination of high-quality materials and unique designs captivates wearers worldwide. Barrie is one of the oldest cashmere factories in Scotland. The factory, initially focused on producing stockings, was founded in Hawick in 1903. In 1920, the company also specialized in clothing production, particularly t-shirts and sweaters. Chanel acquired Barrie, a long-standing customer, in 2012. Since 2018, Frenchman Augustin Dol-Maillot has taken over the creative part of the luxury label Barrie.

Barrie - the fashion label from Scotland

The luxury label Barrie is one of the oldest cashmere factories in Scotland. The factory, which was initially limited to the production of stockings, was founded in Hawick in 1903. In 1920, the company also specialised in the production of clothing, especially T-shirts and jumpers.

Chanel takes over Barrie

Already at that time, Barrie attached great importance to tradition and a special working technique. Thus, the company supplied the biggest names in the fashion industry because of the high quality and the special workmanship. Chanel took over Barrie, a long-standing customer, in 2012. Since 2018, Frenchman Augustin Dol-Maillot has taken over the creative part of the Barrie luxury label.

Streetwear and craftsmanship: Barrie's creative director Dol-Maillot

Creative director Dol-Maillot has a great penchant for streetwear and skilfully brings this into the collections of Scottish label Barrie. The young designer, who was born in 1989, has his own studio in beautiful Paris. There he focuses on optimising the work processes in the production facility in Hawick. There, 80% of the processes that require over 40 operations for a single product are done by hand. The garments are also knitted on Bentley cotton knitting machines.

Barrie's colourful knitwear with intricate 3D patterns

Barrie's fashion, which mainly consists of cardigans, T-shirts and beautiful accessories, is particularly characterised by the eye-catching colours and the intricately worked 3D patterns. The fine knitwear is designed from feminine playful to sporty casual. Whether in grey, blue, pink, beige or black - the cashmere collections impress with colourful designs and playful 3D details. Ready-to-wear in every season, the Barrie knitwear is perfect for fresh spring and summer looks.
